What is neck bracing?

If the neck becomes overloaded over a period of time, the muscles can start to cramp and prevent movement of the head. The neck locks up and if you try to move your head, your neck hurts terribly.

There are disks between the cervical vertebrae and joint capsules around the joints. Overloading, which causes swelling in these fascia structures, puts pressure on nerve receptors that signal pain. The muscles spasm/lock up in defense. The first joint (OA joint, skull-atlas) and the second joint (Atlas-Axis) lack disks.

Symptoms of neck pain?

Neck locking causes pain when you move your head, often more to one side. The neck locks up, becomes stiff and it hurts to turn the head. You can also get tension headaches with neck locking or the neck locking can trigger your migraine.

What causes neck pain?

Neck strain can occur due to a trauma. Often, it may have been a while ago but that there have been small injuries that have not been repaired, but the neck has been incorrectly loaded and overworked after the trauma.

Poor working posture can also be the cause of neck strain. Sitting leaning forward over a mobile phone or a desk for a long time causes fatigue of the neck muscles.

Neck pain can also be acute when you wake up after a night’s sleep. Most often there is an underlying misalignment, asymmetry in the back, pelvis that has gradually crept on until the drop overflows.

When and where to seek treatment for neck pain?

Treatment at a Fascia Clinic can provide quick relief and solve the problem. Muscles and fascia in the neck and throat relax and flow is restored. Pressure on nerve receptors ceases and mobility is quickly regained. At the same time, imbalances and asymmetries in the body are also treated to resolve the problem in the long term.

How is neck pain treated?

How do I prevent neck strain?

To avoid neck pain or its recurrence, you should strengthen the muscles of your neck, abdomen and back. Train core stability with balance exercises and yoga.

Think about your working position. Don’t sit with your head bent forward over a mobile phone or book, as this strains the muscles in your neck and shoulders. Try to keep your head straight and look forward. Vary your posture, move around, sit, stand and take regular breaks.

Neck brace what can I do myself?

Improve your working posture. Take breaks and vary your position. Try gently moving your head and massaging. Warming up with a rice pillow can feel good and increase mobility.

Neck lock exercises?

Relaxation exercises and deep breathing. Lie on your back on the floor with your hips and knees at a 90° angle on a stool or similar. Lie like this, relax and breathe deeply for 10 minutes. The ligaments and muscles of the entire spine relax and the body becomes more balanced.

Stretch the chest muscles (they are often too short as the neck gets tired) by extending one arm towards a doorpost (you are standing in the doorway), pushing your body forward so that your arm is pushed backwards. Feel how it tightens in the chest muscles. Then stand for a minute, rest and repeat a few times. Do the same on both sides.
